Yoga a Day, Week 2

October 14, 2012

Last week, I talked about how I’m doing the #yogaaday challenge this month, where I take photos doing different poses and put them on Instagram. There are lots of people doing this, and I have loved every second of it so far – even the poses that are extremely challenging for me. Check out the #yogaaday tag on Instagram to see, and follow me @skinnyemmie while you’re at it It’s amazing to see so many different people doing these poses – all ages, sizes, and abilities.

Here are poses for days 6-13. We’re not going for perfection. We’re just aiming to try and make it a regular part of the day.

This has always been one of my favorite poses.

I need to work on not rolling my hip forward.

My balance is improving!

Love this one and how my legs look strong.

Most challenging so far. I didn’t “revolve” the pose. Would have been much better with a couple of yoga blocks.

Legs were super sore from squats, so this was tough. Photobombed by the dog.

Again, dealing with tight legs so this was tough.

I didn’t want to see this one on camera, but as soon as I looked at it, I thought my stomach was much smaller than I thought. Made me feel good.

Are you doing the #yogaaday challenge? What’s your favorite pose so far?

I think my favorite so far has been tree pose…..that is when I started to see myself as strong and maybe even beautiful. I am loving each day. Today was good….corpse pose. I got that one dow.

Haha, yes – savasana is always the best, although I find it the hardest to actually quiet my mind.

I love when your pups photobombs. Mine won’t leave me alone when I exercise at home either!

she thinks I’m trying to play – it’s hilarious Even if she’s not in the photo, she’s just outside of the frame, watching.

Love this post! I am not as flexible as you … so I opted to skip out of this because I never would be able to do all the poses.

oh no! It’s not about flexibility. There are about 8 poses coming up that I have zero idea of how to do. Just going to try. If I can’t do it, I’ll just do something else! Hope you join in next time – it’s an interesting experiment if nothing else!
