Weekly Roundup

August 11, 2012

Welcome to the time where I mix a bunch of incoherent, seemingly unrelated things and put them into a single blog post. Sentences just aren’t coming with ease for me today.

  • This week I have been in a funk-o-rama. Not quite sure exactly why, but you know how it goes sometimes.
  • Thanks to those who read my latest email newsletter that went out this week. Hard one to write, but it’s an important part of my story. Want to subscribe? You can do so here. I’ll include a link to previous editions in the next email, slated about 2 weeks from now.
  • On the Enell blog (which I write) – a good reminder to embrace the now. Don’t wait to start.
  • Also on the Enell blog – a photo that makes me happy every time I see it
  • This past week I’m obsessed with wide calf boots. Searching far and wide for a great pair for this year.
  • Lesson learned (for the 100,000th time): If I consume sugar, I feel like a zombie afterwards. Like, I want to pass out in bed for the foggy brain to pass. No bueno.
  • Today, ventured out to play tennis with the hubs. I played in high school, but wasn’t really that good. Fun to hit some balls around, although my ankle really held me back. Hopefully I will build up some strength in it soon. Seriously, you can see it turning in – my left ankle/right on the photo. Yipes.

 How did your week go?

I like to play tennis as well (although do not know the rules) but you do get a great workout in running around.

It’s amazing how much running you do in such a small space!

Check out Pickleball in your area. It’s a paddle sport your ankle may put up with better. How I love Enell for moving. P.s. you look healthy and beautiful!!!!

Ooh, pickleball looks fun! And thank you :)

    Em,
I’ve been in a FUNK this week as well- ugh! And it seems to not be going away, despite what I do. I’m attributing it to the fact that my teacher summer is coming to an end, I have to drive back to Texas (and say goodbye to family/friends again), amongst a few other things so hoping a routine helps that :D It seems like lots of people have been in a funk as of late (read Jenny most recent post), so I am sending you positive un-funky vibes to get back into the swing of things :)

Your tennis picture looks GREAT! :D I love the skirt. And more importantly, you look happy and healthy!

Aw Em, if my teacher summer were coming to an end, I’d be in a funk too! You’ll feel much better when you’re in the swing of routine!

I’ve been in a funk too. What is that about? Where are you looking for wide calf boots? I could use a pair.

I’m waiting to see some hit Zappos – My 2 pair of wide calf boots came from there after searching high and low with other places. SimplyBe has some cute ones. Love Duo Boots as well since you can order custom sizes, but they’re expensive.

enjoying your blog!! Funky weeks are the pits, but hoping that things pick up for you this week! keep up with the good work and positive thoughts!!

    • http://www.skinnyemmie.com/ Emily Sandford

So I just read the beginning of your second sentence as “funky pits are the weeks” hahaha! Perhaps it’s time for me to go to sleep :) And thanks for reading!

Make sure you are wearing the right sneakers for tennis. You need a lot of side support for tennis. Running sneakers don’t have that side support you need for tennis. This will have a great affect on your ankles

So true. I wasn’t wearing great shoes. That being said, I didn’t move much either, ha! If it’s an activity I see continuing, I’ll invest in some tennis shoes

What great week! I miss exercise. Still 4 more weeks to go for when I think the doc will give me the thumbs up! :) Can wait to see you in a month at FitBloggin!

I was in a funk last week too! I think sometimes it just happens. Going to peruse the rest of your blog! Keep up the good work!
