Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

I usually get really excited for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale because I can pick up some good, basic pieces for great prices. Today though? Wasn’t feeling it. My straight-size friend expressed her disappointment and once I looked at the plus selection, I was disappointed as well. Even the handbags, shoes, and jewelry didn’t do much for me this time around.

Hi Emmie,

I needs some fashion help. Unfortunately this summer has not been great and I have lost some ground weight-wise. I need to find a good suit that will fit me right. I have trouble with arms (Too tight robot arms, too lose body on suit jackets, I would say my body is a 26 but my arms are bigger- it’s a problem spot for me and why I often by fabrics with some stretch.)

Do you happen to know of any brands that are good at this? I am looking for something that might look “high-end” that would fit the bill for formal business stuff.

  Hi Nina! Suits are one place where I think Lane Bryant does a good job. They go up to size 28, and often have great stretch in them. There are always things with a suit that are bound to not fit quite right, and I’d highly recommend looking into alterations no matter what you get. They can alter the sleeve length, shoulder width, pant length, pant leg width, etc. It makes the suit SING!

  I always like pairing a suit with a colorful print underneath to bust the boring neutrals!
