Happy 4th! (with photos!)

July 4, 2012

Hi friends – I hope you’re having a great 4th of July! I’ve had a few days where I sat down to blog and just went “hmmmmm.” You know when you have things to say but just don’t quite know how to say them? That’s me right now. I’m still dealing with some imbalance like I wrote about last week. In February, I left the corporate world to start my own business and I’m dealing with a bit of a client transition at the moment, so I’m just working through that. If you could send some juju or good vibes my way, it’d be much appreciated! Things are fine, just need to keep my energy up.

Anyway, I have been super happy the past couple of days because I have gotten photos from people who received their Skinny Emmie t-shirts! The thought of people wearing these messages out in public makes me want to scream a loud “hurrah” to the world.

1. Julie from http://beautifulchunk.blogspot.com/
2. Holly, a longtime friend of mine who lives in Honolulu (with her dog Charlotte)
3. Emily of http://www.fitandfreeemily.com/

Today, I tried to stay off the computer most of the day to just relax, and I think I was quite successful!

1. Working on body confidence in my swimsuit – embrace the body you have right now.
2. I spent a couple hours in the 100 degree heat floating in the pool by myself. Quite relaxing.
3. The day started off with a mani/pedi while reading Vogue. I never get pedicures because I’m ridiculously ticklish on my feet, but for the sake of open-toed shoes, I made it through without kicking Koula (my awesome nail tech) in the face.

Happy 4th! xoxo

Hi! You really look amazing. I get so inspired to lose weight hearing success people have. It makes me more determined to get myself healthier. Had been using Roca labs Formula to lose weight. This month I lost 10 lbs. Yahoo!

I have owned my own business for 14 years and I totally understand about the phrase “client transition”. It causes some anxiety and a feeling of being generally unsettled when you are out on that limb. That, as we all know, can lead to eating issues. I hope things are evening out for you. I agree, you are rocking that swimsuit, by the way.

this client transition is so nerve-wracking – it’s why I was so hesitant to start a business – I’m pretty risk averse! Anyway, I still love it 10 times more than my corporate job. Just need to maintain confidence!
