Starting weight: 455
Last weigh in: 362
Today: 362
Loss this week: -0
Total lost: -93 pounds

This past week I have made some changes to my food. I’ve added more carbs than normal by adding sweet potatoes and bananas to my diet. I’ve also had oatmeal a few days this week. I  started eating reduced fat greek yogurt, which has more carbs, but less calories than the full fat greek yogurt I had been eating. I am actually really happy to see a zero this week as opposed to a gain when I have typically transitioned out of very low carb foods.

As for the reason behind the change? I just haven’t been very fulfilled with my foods lately. I just wanted something different – more variety. So I’m still counting calories and measuring items as before, just with more carbohydrates than I’ve had in a long time. I’m monitoring my energy levels closely, and as of yet, haven’t had any carb crashes as I was fearing.

I had a holiday party on Saturday where I had 3 (big) glasses of wine and a lot of cheese and little sausages. So, another reason I’m glad I had a zero instead of a gain.

Anyway, rambling now. Onward and downward!

It is nice that you were able to make the transition without gaining any weigh. I sometimes make diet changed too but usual I gain a lb or 2. I hope for your next weigh in you see a lose!.

I count zeros as victories in my world. Especially after having really good weigh ins the last couple weeks. Healthy carbs shouldn’t make you gain weight as long as you are still counting calories. Sometimes I think we forget it is as simple as calories in vs calories out sometimes.

    Have a great week!

And apparently I like the word “sometimes” ;)

I think it’s important to reassess your menu every so often like this. You’re much more likely to stick to your plan (and within your calorie ranges) if you’re enjoying the food you’re eating. I did the same thing recently by upping my calories to 1400 – it’s made all the difference in the world with my attitude and my weight loss.

Considering it’s the holiday season and that’s when so many people crash and burn, you are doing so amazing!!!

Thanks for all the lovely comments everyone. I appreciate them so much. It’s easy to leave comments when things are great, but leaving them when not much changes is awesome.

Good for you. It’s better to change up your diet thoughtfully than to let yourself get sick of it and go off track completely.

i’m in love with greek yogurt!! the oikos brand in caramel flavor is incredible — it really tastes like dessert. i’ve only been able to find it at wal-mart, but it’s worth the trip to wally world craziness to get some (aka it’s THAT good!)
