Greetings from another one of my exciting Saturday nights /insert sarcasm here/
Really, I’m kind of a homebody, so I don’t mind. Don’t get me wrong, I like going out too, but sometimes just staying in is great. I haven’t been watching TV during the week because my workout schedule has made me re-prioritize how I spend my time, but it felt awesome to sit down and catch up on an insane amount of TV on the DVR. I also cleaned out my closet and chest of drawers. With this new exercise routine, my laundry has nearly doubled, and I now have a workout wardrobe which has conveniently been sitting on the floor in a laundry basket for the past 10 weeks. It was amazing to see how much old crap I was hanging on to. Things ranging from a size 16 (a size I was for about 2 seconds in 1999) to a 32 (which were too tight even back then, but it’s the highest size I could find at 455 pounds). I chucked a bunch of stuff that I knew I’d never wear again (due to either size or style), and it felt great to purge it all- even the too-small-still stuff. Just clutter. I’d rather get new clothes when I’m back in those sizes anyway
This morning I had a session with Trainer Rob, and I really enjoyed it. I like the new weight training program he has for me- things I haven’t done before, and wouldn’t normally challenge myself to do. Now if only my mind would stop telling me that I can’t do something because I weigh just under 400 pounds. Gah.
After the workout, I got to meet Maria from Chasing the Now! If you don’t read her blog, you should. She lives in Japan with her husband, but is from Kentucky and is back in the state visiting family. She came to Lexington to run the Midsummer Night’s Run, one of the city’s most popular 5K’s. She was so sweet, and it was so great to get to meet her. Make sure to check out her blog here.
I got some new clothes from Old Navy and was excited that I went down a size in jeans and in some tops. The picture here is of me today before I headed out to meet Maria.
Anyway, enough rambling for now. Off to sleep so I can get up in the morning and get a good workout in. Hope you’re having a good one.
