Weigh In | 5.10.10

May 10, 2010

Good Monday to everyone! I hope you had a good weekend and a good Mother’s Day.

Today was my 2nd weigh-in of this new re-re-re-start. Last week, I lost 8.5 pounds. Talk about a WHOOOOSH!

This week, I lost 1.5 pounds. This gives me a grand total of 54 pounds lost so far.

Not super excited, but happy and thankful for a loss. There are a few things I think I could have done differently to make the outcome slightly better, including:

  • Being a little better about my water intake. I had a few days where I got my gallon in, and then others where I got about 1.5L in, which is about half of what I wanted
  • Increasing my protein at breakfast. The first week, I ate 2 hardboiled egg whites, a carbsmart yogurt (80 calories, 3g carbs and 12g protein) and a string cheese. The majority of this past week, I forfeited the egg whites due to laziness of not boiling the eggs. Adding them back this week to see if it helps
  • Potluck at work: We had a cinco de Mayo potluck at work. I ended up eating seasoned taco meat and refried beans, topped with lettuce, sour cream and queso. The beans were definitely something I should have held back on. I should have come prepared with an additional protein source.

How did you do this week? What can you do to improve?

hey heyyyyyyy 1.5 is not shabby at all! Good for you! My weigh in is tomorrow. I am trying to concentrate on not sabotaging it with ‘oh I can just eat this!’ Clean eating, lots of water. Monday is my most diet stressful day, I’m sure. No matter WHAT day I choose to weigh in, though, the next day before is my nemesis.

I had a really good week, though I don’t think my scale will tell that tale. I skipped my weigh in last week and I was hoping for a big drop to show for it but I likely won’t. My clothes and the way I feel certainly do!

Congrats on the 1.5, any is better than none… and 1.5 is more that me this week. Mother’s Day sabotaged did me in this week. Gonna hit it hard this week. Have you ever considered a protein powder? I drink a shake each morning and it’s like 50g of protein or something.

Chris- what kind of protein powder is it (brand)? I used to do protein shakes, but haven't done them in a while.

1.5 is great! Don't let those crazy “Biggest Loser” numbers be your measure, slow & steady is the smart way to go. :) I think 1.5 is totally celebration-worthy.
