I almost didn’t get on the scale today. After 2 weeks of being on the road, I thought for sure I’d see a gain. I have been eating more carbs than usual (a little whole grain bread here, extra chili there, etc- still under 50 net carbs, but I’m usually under 20 net carbs) so I was scared to see the scale. Last time I weighed in a couple of weeks ago, I had goose-egged the weigh in. Losses have been slow lately, and I find myself getting discouraged fairly easily right now.

I made the 50 pound club, way before Thanksgiving (my goal)!!!!!!!!! And all while traveling and not being in my normal comfort zone!!!!!!!
I can totally start to feel the changes now.
For example:
- Friday, when I was flying back to Lexington from Raleigh, my flight from Raleigh to Charlotte was delayed. We landed 15 minutes before the Charlotte to Lexington plane was supposed to take off. We landed in a terminal WAY FAR from the one I needed to be at. I power walked and even jogged through the airport with a few other men trying to catch the same flight. I couldn’t believe I could actually move with that much ease. No way I could have done it with 52 more pounds on me. No way. Ended up missing the flight anyway, but I was glad I was able to truck it like that.
- I ordered some work clothes in 2 sizes down than what I had been, and they all fit. Not just barely fit, but they fit perfect. No tugging or pulling or stuffing into them. It felt great.
