GAH! Fashion at QVC

September 12, 2009

As I start to lose weight and get even back into “regular plus sizes” (Lesson for skinny girls. Plus sizes have a few different categories. “Designer” plus sizes typically run between a 12-22, sometimes a 24. “Regular” plus sizes are 14-28 and “Extended” plus sizes are 14-anywhere between a 32-36). Obviously the Designer range has more fashionable clothes than Regular, and Regular more fashionable than Extended. But this is not the case with QVC. Saw a tweet about QVC having a fashion week show and went to their site and low and behold, this beautiful stuff goes up to a size 28!!!!! We’re talking Chloe Dao (Project Runway- one of my fave shows), Marc Bouwer, Rachel Zoe.

I’m completely drooling over these pieces. To think I could FIT in these on-trend, yet classy, pieces at reasonable prices? RIDICULOUS! Running away to hide my purse.

Give me a pair of black tights and my peep-toe booties and I’m all over this dress!

A ponte sheath? Shut up! Throw a 3/4 sleeve cardigan and a pair of platform pumps and I’m good to go!

    Those are CUTE!

But I really wish they would model the plus sizes and a plus sized model. I know I will think something is cute and I’ll put it on and DECEPTION! This was not cut for me. I have tits and an ass…and OH! the thighs. KWIM?

I understand and agree about the models. I love that their range of clothes go from a 2-28, but would love if a plus model could also model alongside the size 2 girl.

Oooooooh. My mom has a QVC account. I’m so gonna have to check some of this stuff out and see about ordering through her info.

But I agree with Lizz B, about the models. Even at a store like Lane Bryant — I love their clothes, but all the models are at the very low end of plus size. I always wish they would mix it up a little with some models on the higher end to see how the clothes look on someone closer to my size. Something that looks good on a 14 might not be as flattering at my 24.
