Wait did you NOT read the AD it clearly says SAVE THE WHALES and there is an overweight woman on a BILLBOARD. IF PETA EMPLOYEES APPROVE THE AD They are saying the COMPANY as A WHOLE supports that message. I mean come on they proudly signed it PETA.

If I worked for a company that puts out an AD that I found immoral and insulting I would leave the company. By stay with that company you are saying as a team I condone that behavior.

Just a month ago I went on vacation and sat next to a couple of teenagers who under their breath were joking about how fat I was. When I sat on the bench one even acted out that I launched him into the air. I cried that day.

Now your right in saying that we are condoning one bad behavior with another. But PETA fights with extreme measures and will not listen until someone does the same. Maybe if some one did something as insulting they might actually know how it feels! Stop the aggressive tactics.

NOW LOOK it is ok to be passionate in anger but not to bring someone down doing it. PETA has a serious long history of making direct insulting comments against many different types of people. In fact I am thinking of 3 ads just off the top of my head which make fun of African Americans, seniors, and they CONDONE anorexia. I will be glad to show you these ADs if you wish.

PETA HAS TO STOP! I am passionate about finding a cure for kidney disease but you don’t see me running around putting up posters which directly insult people to do it.

Now I am not going to attack vegetarianism I applaud them for making a stand but don’t insult your fellow man to do it. Just like you are doing.

PETA needs to STOP, they are known to fight with EXTREME MEASURES and the only way they will stop HURTING people is with extreme measures. That only makes sense.

What blows me away about your COMMENT of: PETA did not conceive of and execute this billboard is crazy. ARE YOU HONESTLY saying they had nothing to do with approving that AD? These are campaign tactics they have done since the 80s… trust me I am a marketing director and Graphic designer. I KNOW ALL ABOUT PETA and their Malicious tactics. I had to do an essay about it in college.

I will say that PETA your efforts are honorable. I LOVE ANIMALS. STOP YOUR EXTREME measures of verbally abusing others as they have done many times over again. They consistently put the lives of animals over people even children. Oh I am sorry do you want proof of that AD too.

LET IT BE SAID: That because I eat chicken this does NOT mean I am a killer or an animal abuser… I want to also say I in no way approve in the torture, beating or the abuse of animals.

I in fact saved two dogs last year one from a puppy mill and one being tossed in a bag and into my yard after it was beaten severely. I kept a small Maltese which I had to rock every night after the puppy mill incident for over a month because she was SO frightened. I would also like to add which I will clearly post on my blog photos of our FDA all organic food in my home: Just in case you don’t know what that means… FDA approved organic mean the consumption of meat in the most humane way. And no processed steroid or pesticides in their vegetables.

As a Christian God condones the eating of certain animals and therefore that does not make me killer. In Gods eyes and that is the only eyes I care about.

I’ll state again that I know this is an old post, but since I’m backreading your inspiring, body-positive blog, others may also; to that end, I wanted to at least attempt to post a comment condemning equally the idea of maliciously consuming animal products in front of people whose only concern is the millions and *millions* of animals who are tortured, abused, and mistreated every day so that Americans can eat as many cheeseburgers and hot dogs as they like. And while generally I would agree with an argument that supporting or volunteering for an organization that does something offensive such as this, or Target’s donation of campaign funds to an openly homophobic politician, I would have to counter with: who else, other than PETA, is so vocally campaigning for animal welfare and reform? No one. PETA’s methods are often radical and frequently bizarre, but they are also, in may ways, effective. The mere threat of PETA has sufficed to convince some factory farms to very quietly change some of their more outrageous and ethically sickening practices. For that, I applaud PETA. For the name-calling of overweight women (of which I am one), I do not.

Wait lets get a WHOLE BUNCH OF FAT BEAUTIFUL WOMEN (US) And go sit in front of their door steps and eat and grill chicken breast. If we just go get a right to picket at the city we certainly can do this legally. Peta constantly makes a stand why shouldn't we. I live in GA I will GLADLY drive my fat butt down there and stand again that!

As an aside, I was a vegan and then vegetarian for the better part of the last few years, and I GAINED weight. Granted, toward the end I was not doing it healthfully and basically eating an all-carb diet, but still. Vegetarianism does not equal thin. It wasn’t until I started incorporating some lean meats (chicken and fish) back into my diet that I was able to lose weight again.
