I know all women, no matter how voluptuous or svelte, have felt this way before. Fill in those blanks with whatever you want:
When I ___________, I will _____________.
For example:
When I get rich, I will take a fantastic vacation.
When I get a new job, I will be more assertive.
When I get married, I will stop buying so much Louis Vuitton.
Inevitably I think these kind of statements revolve around 2 things: procrastination or celebration. In the last 2 examples above, it’s about procrastinating an action that you know should happen now, but you find a crutch to put it off. In the first, it could be procrastination or celebration- celebrating your wealth with a great vacation. If you dig deeper though, you have to wonder… why do I need a lot of money to take a fantastic vacation? Am I using this as an excuse to stay in my bubble?
But alas, this post isn’t about giving you cheap vacation tips, so I digress.

I’ll blog a lot about my “When I’s.” I’ve had a lifetime to think about them. Many of them are celebration-related. Others are procrastination-oriented. When they’re celebration-related, I just ask that you dream with me. When they’re procrastination-oriented, I want you to give me a kind swift kick in the ass. I will do the same for you!
When I become Skinny Emmie, I will be the star in my own fantastic model-esque photo shoot.

When I was younger, I wanted to be a plus size model. I’m just shy of 5’10 and have always marveled at the beauty of plus size models. I had a whole stack of Mode magazines (RIP) that I would look at over and over, wondering if I had what it took to do it. I could never get to a size 14 though to feel confident enough to do it. (Why a size 10 is plus size is beyond me…)
I don’t know why this one excites me so much. Maybe it’s because I’m surrounded by really talented photographers. Or maybe since one of my friends is a model. Who knows? All I know is that it will kick ass. And if I’m really lucky, maybe I’ll be able to live my teenage dream of being a plus size model after all.
It’s these “When I’s” that I can’t wait to celebrate with all of you.
