"More to Love" (Patrick Wymore/FOX)
Ok, just watched “More to Love“.
*face palm*
First: Why the hell do you have to put the women’s height and weight on the tv? WTH??????? Does their height and weight REALLY matter? This is probably the most infuriating thing for me…
Second: These ladies are GORGEOUS. Why must the weight be the primary focus? 5’10 and 190? That’s my IDEAL weight and size, and if I get there I’ll be flaunting myself everywhere. BELIEVE IT!
Third: These girls are throwing themselves at him- a kiss within the first 10 minutes or whatever? Have some self-respect and hold out for at least 1 hour!!!
Fourth: Girls who are crying because they think this is the only guy out there who can appreciate a curve? You’ve got a lot to learn!
I WANT to like this show. I really do. I like seeing people larger than a size 2 on TV (hence my love of Ruby and Drop Dead Diva). But this guy isn’t spectacular. The women have self-esteem issues and I’m worried that it will portray in the media that plus size women don’t have confidence in themselves and that they’re over-emotional. I want to root for these women and watch their confidence soar and know that if ‘ol dude doesn’t give them a ring that they’re not doomed for old spinster status for life.
I know there are tons of posts on the blogosphere about this so I will digress for now. I just wanted to root for these women because they’re beautiful and talented, not because they’re the only place I can find “real size” people on TV.
*Sigh*
